flames
the chimneys of the crematorium stood tall
like a withered tree
calling my name
huge flames rising
men
women
children
thrown into the flames
bodies transformed into smoke
we were all people
condemned to the same fate
we marched forward
very close to us
were the pit and its flames
we were face to face with the Angel of Death
Ellie,
ReplyDeleteYour poem is very moving. I did the same topic (the fires) and I think that your poem is important. Thank you for sharing. Your poem is very well written.
Ellie,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your poem. The description is very well done. One really good verse was the last one that said "we were face to face with the Angel of Death". That concludes the poem well.
